Williamsburg, KY – Facing their first of six teams that qualified for the 2021 NAIA National Tournament, the UC women's basketball team had four players record double-digit in a 99-90 win over Reinhardt Monday night on Randy Vernon Court.  With the win, the Patriots improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Eagles open their season 0-1.

Destiny Haworth led all scorers with a game and career-high 27 points.  The freshman converted 7-10 from beyond-the-arc, as she add four free throws and a layup to cap off her night.  Kaylie Monday finished with a season-high 16 points, six rebounds, and four assist, while Abbi Douglas recorded 15 points, a team-high eight points, and two assists in the win.  Kassie Monday notched 10 points, while Reagan Begole tied the team-high in rebounds with eight.

Kaylee Mathis started the game with a layup off an assist from Haworth, however, Reinhardt scored seven unanswered to take the lead three minutes in.  The two teams traded points before UC went on a 10-0 run of their own to take a 14-8 advantage midway through the quarter.  Begole had four points and Channing Lewis notched three points during that run.  A minute later, Lillie Hall drained a three-pointer to spark a 7-1 run to extend Cumberlands lead to 21-11.  Sydney Dalton netted UC's final four points of the quarter as the Patriots closed out with a 25-18 lead.

Cumberlands opened the second quarter with Begole connecting with Haworth from deep to push the lead back to ten points.  Reinhardt went on an 8-3 run to cut the score to 31-26, however, Haworth and Kassie Monday each sank a three pointer to push the lead back to double-digits.  Two minutes later, Haworth converted from deep twice to give Cumberlands a 45-30 lead with 4:05 left in the first half.  The teams continued to trade possession over the next few minutes as Kaylie Monday hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give UC a 53-41 edge at the break. 

The Patriots opened the second half similar to how they have every quarter this time however Kassie Monday grabbed an offensive rebound and kicked it out to Kaylie Monday for the three-pointer.  UC's strong shooting continued as Kassie Monday and Begole converted on layups before Haworth connected with another three to give UC a 68-49 edge midway through the quarter.  Reinhardt went on a 6-0, however, the Patriots clamped down on defense as Kaylie Monday, Abbi Douglas, and Kassie Monday each tallied a steal resulting in Patriot layup making it 76-55 with 2:44 remaining.  The Eagles closed out the period on an 8-0 run but Cumberlands took a 76-63 advantage into the final quarter.

Douglas and Kaylie Monday went on a 6-0 run to open the fourth quarter to make it 82-66.  After traded buckets Douglas grabbed an offensive rebound and putback, while Haworth hot shooting continued which pushed the lead back to 20 with 7:05 left.  Reinhardt started to cut into the lead as they utilized an 11-2 run, spanning five minutes to make it 94-83.  Cumberlands closed out the game converted 5-8 at the charity stripe for the 99-90 final.

Cumberlands out-rebounded Reinhardt 43-35, including a 21-13 edge on offensive rebounds.  The Patriots dished out 15 assists in the game and finished with 12 steals.
