Bowling Green, KY – Recording career-high's in points, assists, rebounds, and steals aided Kassie Monday as she was named the Mid-South Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.  Monday becomes the second Patriot this season to garner this honor as she becomes the first UC freshman since Lauren Wombles during the 2009-2010 season to earn this distinction.

Monday averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals over Cumberlands two conference games on the week.  The Clarkrange, TN native opened the week with by netting a career-high 25 points and leading the Patriots to a 100-95 win over Georgetown to open MSC play.  The freshman went 10-15 from the field, including 4-7 from long range, to lead the charge.  Monday netted 20 points in the second half, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter to help Cumberlands open conference play victorious for the third straight season. 



Monday followed that up with another strong performance against second-ranked Campbellsville.  The newcomer netted 18 points, dished out a career-high eight assists, and grabbed four rebounds in the game.  She scored a team-high ten points and four assists as part of a 28 point third quarter that cut the deficit to one point.  Monday also hit a jumper with 1:09 remaining to tie the game at 81-81.  Her four rebounds and two steals in the game both ties her career-high.

The Patriots will return the road Tuesday, November 23, when they travel to Dayton, TN to face Bryan College.  Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. with live video available here, and live stats available here.
