Bowling Green, KY - The Patriots men's cross country team saw three runners earn MSC Academic All-Conference honors, announced by the conference office on Thursday. Sophomore Kyle Woodward also represented the Patriots on this year's MSC Champions of Character Team. Shawnee State and Cumberland (TN) had nine honorees each to lead the MSC.
 
Junior Garrett Hadaway and Sophomore Carson Johnson earned academic honors for the second time in their careers at Cumberlands. Kyle Woodward was the third Patriot to earn these honors, his first as a Patriot.
 
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
 
The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
 
Cumberlands is eager to get back on the course on Friday. UC earned a fourth place finish here earlier in the season and look to improve upon that to make a run for the MSC title and earn a spot in the NAIA National Championships later this month. The race is slated for 1:00 pm CT on Friday in Bowling Green, KY.
