NAIA Coaches' Poll- Postseason

Kansas City, MO – After making it to the NAIA Opening Round for the third consecutive year, the UC men's soccer teams remain as one of the top teams in the NAIA, receiving votes in the final poll of the 2021 season.

UC finished out the season with a 11-6-3 overall record and 8-2-1 within the Mid-South Conference. The Patriots once again made it to the MSC Championship game, marking back-to-back seasons they did so. Cumberlands ended their season at the NAIA Opening Round after losing 2-1 in overtime to # Columbia International.

The team had seven players earn MSC All-Conference honors with one on First Team, four on Second Team, and a pair with Honorable Mention. Joel Drewery was the lone Patriot on First Team, leading UC in assists with 13 this season which also ranked him fifth in the NAIA. Drewery leaves the UC men's soccer program as one of the most decorated earning the first ever five-time MSC All-Conference honoree, the all-time assist leader (44) and the all-time caps leader (92).

Rodrigo Riveros led the team in scoring with 12 including four game winners. Stephen Appiah tallied the second most with six, scoring four of those in post season for the Patriots. Liam Healey was second on the team in assists with nine and notched a pair of goals, one coming as a game winning goal.

Goalkeeper, Nathan Hart and the defensive play of Aleksandar Mirkovic, Gabriel Figurski Vieira, Joachim Blomsterberg, Tommaso Ogliari, Drewery, Samir Hammami,and Brandon McDonald recorded five shutouts on the season and held teams to just 5.75 shots on goal per game.

Of the 12 NAIA Coaches' Polls this season, UC was mentioned in 11 of them, marking the most the Patriots have been ranked for, in a single season.

In the Mid-South Conference, Lindsey Wilson is ranked the highest at #14 and Cumberland joins Cumberlands with receiving votes in the final poll.
