Lake Wales, FL – On day two of UC's road trip through Florida, the Patriots faced off against #19 Warner University, where they dropped a pair of games 3-0, 6-3.
UC struggled to get runs across, but put plenty of runners on base. Combined they left 13 runners on base.
Emily Bryant led the offense for UC picking up three hits and an RBI.
Acacia Gray also had a multi-hit day along with getting an RBI to help the Patriots' offense.
Katie Cheeseman had a trio of hits across the two games, one in the first game and two in the second.
CUMBERLANDS FALLS TO #19 WARNER UNIVERSITY, 3-0
Neither offense put up any runs through the first three innings. The Royals were able to break the stalemate in the fourth inning scoring three runs off three hits. A hit by pitch put a runner on and they were scored from a double to right center. The next two batters each earned a single to give Warner two more runs to go up 3-0.
The best chance for the UC offense came in the seventh inning.
Maddie Sickau got on base from a single to left field.
Madison Huber got on with a fielder's choice that forced Sickau out at second.
Meryn Livingston came in to pinch hit and delivered a single to advance Huber to second. However, Huber was stranded at second as
Abby Whelan struck out to end the game.
CUMBERLANDS UNABLE TO PREVENT SWEEP
Warner plated five runs over the first two inning to take the early lead. Bryant opened the top of the fourth inning with a double, however, was stranded at second keeping the score 5-0. The Royals extended their lead in the bottom of fourth with an RBI single giving Warner a 6-0 lead.
Cumberlands looked to rally in the top of the fifth inning as Livingston doubled to right-center to lead off.

Madison Mills singled up the middle, scoring
Taylor Green, who came in to run for Livingston, for the Pats first run. UC plated another run as Bryant singled up the middle scoring
Emily Jasper and cutting the deficit to 6-2.
The Patriots shutdown the Royals in the bottom of fifth and went into the top of sixth looking to cut into the deficit.
Madison Huber reached base on a one-out single and advanced to second on the play. She would score two batters later as Gray lined a ball to right field for the RBI single making it 6-3 in favor of Warner after six inning.
UC led off the seventh with back-to-back singles from Jasper and Cheeseman. The Patriots couldn't score off the opportunity as Warner got a fielder choice and consecutive outs to end the threat for the 6-3 final.
The Patriots will return to the field tomorrow, February 13, when they travel across Crooked Lake to face Webber. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. with live video of the games available
