Women's Bowling Clashes in the Hoosier Classic

Indianapolis, IN - The Cumberlands women's bowling team notched a 7th place finish during the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday. The placement is noteworthy as the Patriots beat out 24 other teams that made the trip for the weekend event.
 
On Saturday, the Patriots knocked down a combined total of 4,355 pins across 25 baker-style games. UC struck an individual per-game average of 174.2 pins and finished just 11 total pins behind 6th placed Concordia University. 
 
Cumberlands best work of the day came during their fourteen game when they tallied a score of 231 pins. The Patriots also achieved a score greater than 200 during their eighteenth game on Saturday when they hit 212 pins.
 
Seven bowlers suited up on Saturday for the Patriots including Allysen Coryell, Erika Taylor, Haleigh Lawwell, Kerrigan Welch, Kiara Abanto, Mickayla Shannon, and ReighAnn Oliphant.
 
In total, 31 schools made the trip to Indianapolis for the competition. The tournament format consisted of 25 baker-style games. 
 
At the conclusion of the event, Lindenwood University claimed first place after they knocked down a total of 4,674 pins. St. Francis secured second place after they notched 4,537 pins. 
 
UC will look to bounce-back as they prepare for the 4th Mid-South Conference event of the season. The tournament is slated for Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28 in Louisville, KY.
