Williamsburg, KY – After helping that Patriots capturing a pair of Mid-South Conference swimming championships, seniors Mendy de Rooi and Alan Senn have been selected as the Domino's Athletes of the Week, announced by the athletic department Monday.

De Rooi was named the female athlete of the week after capturing winning seven conference titles and being named the MSC Swimmer of the Year.  De Rooi opened the championships by swimming away from the field to win the 500 free with a time of 5:04.60.  She added conference titles in the 100 butterfly (55.28) and the 100 free (51.25) to successfully defend her conference titles.  De Rooi was part of four gold medal relay teams, including the 200 medley relay that broke the meet record clocking a time of 1:45.85.  De Rooi becomes just the second swimmer in MSC history to be named Swimmer of the Year in three consecutive season.  The senior also broke the school record in the 50 free splitting a 23.49 leading off the 200 free relay.  She has the fastest time in the NAIA in seven different events.
 
Senn earned the male athlete of the week honors after tallying two gold and a silver medal to help UC to their third straight conference title.  One of the veterans of this year's squad, Senn touched the wall in 4:37.66 to win the 500 free and notch his first individual conference title.  The Albuquerque, NM native followed that up by winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:06.45, which is the fourth fastest time in program history.  Senn capped off his championship with a runner-up finish in the 1650 free clocking a time of 16:12.99 to earn his third all-conference honor of the meet.  Senn was one of two Patriots to win multiple individual conference titles on the week.
