Williamsburg, KY – Following a week of impressive performances in Patriots Athletics, golfer Carlee Shoemaker and forward Rodrigo Riveros have been selected as the Domino's Athletes of the Week, announced by the athletic department Monday.

Shoemaker was named the female athlete of the week after she made program history en route to earning Medalist honors for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career.  The junior carded a final round 67 (-5), which was the best round in program history to propel herself to the top of the leaderboard.  As part of that historic round Shoemaker sank a hole-in-one on the seventh hole, making her the first Patriot in at least the decade to accomplish that feat.  The Central City, KY native added four birdies in the round to become the first Patriot since Kaitlin Riley during the 2017-18 season to card at least a 68 or better in a round.  On the weekend, Shoemaker club a 146 to win the tournament by one stroke.  It marks the second straight year that Shoemaker has won multiple events in a season as she moves up to be tied with Laura Beth Harris for fourth all-time on the Patriots wins list.

Riveros earned the male athlete of the week honors after tallying three goals and three assists in UC's two wins on the week.  The freshman opened the week with a career-high two goals, two assists, and six points in the win over Shawnee State.  Riveros assisted the first goal of the game to Sergio Infantes Castell five minutes into the contest.  He added goals in the 44' and 64', while assisting a Milan Stojanovic goal in the 47' to help the Patriots to 9-1 win over the Bears. It was the first multi-goal game of Riveros career.  He followed that up by notching a goal and an assists in the Patriots 2-0 win over Georgetown.  Riveros netted the eventual game-winning goal in the 26' before assisting Cumberlands second goal as the Patriots improve to 7-5-2 overall and 7-2-1 in MSC play.  All four of Riveros goals along with his three assists have come in the Patriots last three games.
