Kansas City, MO – Three days after recording the lowest round in UC women's golf program history, junior Carlee Shoemaker added another accolade to her impressive season.  On Wednesday the Central City, KY native was named the NAIA Women's Golfer of the Week by the national office.

In the final round of the Heritage Hills Invitational, Shoemaker carded a career-best round of 67 (-5) to climb six spots to the top of the leaderboard.  After opening the round with five straight pars, Shoemaker sank a birdie on six, before tallying her first collegiate hole-in-one on the seventh hole.  With that Shoemaker became the first Patriots women's golfer to recorded a hole-in-one in at least the past decade.   After making the turn at two-under-par, 34, the Central City, KY native birdied three of the first five holes on the back nine to move to five-under par, which is where she closed out the round.

Shoemaker opened the tournament with a 79 (+7) in the first round. She finished the tournament with a two-round total of 146 to earn medalist honors for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career.  Her performance also aided the Patriots to their third tournament win of the season as they won by 16 strokes.

The junior has continued her strong play over the last two days earning her second straight win at the Union College Spring Invite.  She has moved into a tie with Laura Tipton for third-place on UC's all-time wins list.  Shoemaker is also just the fifth Patriot in program history to record at least three wins in a season.

Shoemaker becomes the fourth Patriot in program history to earn NAIA Player of the Week honors and the first since the 2016 when both Kaitlyn Riley and Constanze Sieker won it during that season.
The Patriots will look to make it three in a row as they battle in the Union University Spring Bash in Alabama on Monday March 29.
