Kansas City, MO – With the second longest win streak in the NAIA, which currently stands at 13 straight, the UC women's lacrosse team remains ranked third in NAIA Women's Lacrosse Top-10 Coaches' Poll, released by the national office Wednesday.  The Patriots earned 72 points as they get set to open Mid-South Conference play later this afternoon.

UC has opened the season with a 5-0 record, including an 18-4 win over then (RV) Siena Heights.  Over those games, UC has averaged 19.6 goals per game and 9.8 assists per game, both of which leads the NAIA.

The Patriots are being led by Bella Ricchiazzi, Jaclyn Berry, and Emily Heim.  Ricchiazzi and Heim have both netted their 100^th career goal so far this season making them the fourth and fifth Patriot in program history to reach that milestone.  Ricchiazzi leads the team with 25 goals, 12 assists, and 37 points, while Berry has tallied 19 points, and Heim has chipped in 20 points and 23 draw controls. Three other Patriots have notched at least 10 points this season.

Goalie Olivia McCarrell has made 36 saves, while posting a .581 save percentage so far this season. The freshman also has four caused turnovers and 12 ground balls.  UC has limited opponents to 5.8 goals per game as Stephanie Meyer and Trinity Brown have recorded nine and seven caused turnovers, respectfully.   

SCAD Savannah received 80 points, including four first place first to be on top the poll. Keiser is ranked second, while Benedictine and Lawrence Tech rounds out the top five.  MSC foes Life and Georgetown are also ranked in the top 10. 

Cumberlands will return to the field Wednesday, March 24,when they travel to Georgetown, KY to face the ninth-ranked Tigers.  The game is set to start at 4 p.m. with live video available here and live stats available here.
