Logan Mann etched his name in program history becoming the first Patriot football player to earn multiple CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as the 2020-21 All-District Team was announced Thursday.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Cumberlands is in District 2 of the NAIA Division, which features schools from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. To be eligible for this award a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.30. They also have played in at least 50% of its team's games as well as been a contributor on the field.
In addition to earning this award this season, Mann also garner this accolade in 2018 as a sophomore. The Lawrenceburg, KY native has been a key part to the Patriots offensive line over his four years with the Patriots. He has helped UC post a pair of ten wins season and protecting for multiple all-conference running backs and special team players.
Mann is majoring in Biology as a three-time MSC Academic All-Conference selection as well as earning Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2019.
This marks the fourth straight year the Cumberlands has placed at least one player on the All-District Team. Mann is one of three offensive lineman to earn the distinction along with Matthew Castner and Adam Smith in 2018.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
The MSC was well represented as 22 student-athletes were named to Academic All-District Teams between two districts.
