MSC Preseason Poll
Williamsburg, KY - As the Cumberlands volleyball program starts getting prepared to start their season in two weeks, they look to get back on track and add another winning season to their record books. The Patriots received 50 points in the preseason poll, which puts them to finish in eighth place.
Coach Hart had these words to say about the polls "I do not like the rankings, but it is fine if other teams want to underestimate us, we will take the underdog role".
UC is coming off a 9-14 season, with 6-10 mark in conference play. The team will be returning three MSC all-conference players,
Lily Chapman (First Team),
Savanah Schwarz (Second Team), and
Emily Prewitt (Honorable Mention).
Cumberlands starts their 2021 season off on August 20, at the Vette City Classic against Florida College at 10:00 a.m. followed by Brescia University at 5:30 p.m. The Patriots will play in the Milligan Mountain Madness Tournament in following week, with two more tune-up games before starting conference play on September 10, against Bethel University.
Defending MSC regular and post-season champs Lindsey Wilson finished in first place after receiving 121 points in the poll and 11 first place votes, while Life University finished in second place receiving 109 points and the final first place vote. Georgetown rounded out the top three, after receiving 99 voting points.
