Bowling Green, KY – After a top level performance from
Jayden Boelter in the team's victory over Dalton State on Saturday, she was able to earn Mid-South Conference Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference officials on Monday.
Boelter earned MSC Offensive Player of the Week after putting the ball in the back of the net twice for the second time this season to help defeat the Roadrunners 2-0. She opened up the scoring in the 49
th minute of the match after a scoreless first half from the Patriots.
Alanna Skinner received the ball in the middle of the field and sent a pass up to Laura Navajas. Navajas was able to float a ball into the goalie box that Boelter was able to head into the back of the net to give UC a 1-0 advantage.
The freshman was able to earn her brace in the game during the 63
rd minute of the match.
Madison Mirandilla sent a pass up the right side of the field to
Jillian Zurborg. Zurborg was able to work the ball past the backline, and was able to cross the ball into goalie box. Boelter was able to connect with the ball and just tapped it into the goal to put the Patriots up 2-0 on Dalton State.
With Boelter winning the honors this week, this marks the third time a Cumebrlands player has earned an MSC weekly award. This is the first time in her career for that Boelter has earned the weekly honor.
The Patriots will be back in action on the pitch tomorrow, September 21 to open up conference play against Cumberland University. The game will start at 12:30 ET and will be taking place at Richard Siegal Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro, TN.
