Williamsburg, KY – UC keeps rolling as they beat Tennessee Wesleyan 3-0 (25-16, 25-9, 25-16) to extend their win streak to five straight matches, including four consecutive sweeps Saturday afternoon at the UC Volleyball Gym. Freshman
Camryn Wells records a career-high in blocks as she notched five blocks and four kills to help led the way for UC.

Kathryn Hart said, "We had a great week. I am so proud of how this team tackles adversity and works so well together." She added, "We are looking forward to starting conference play on the road next weekend."
The Patriots offense was led by
Lily Chapman who came away with 12 kills,
Anna Blumeier added 10 kills and two blocks.
Lexi Lester led the passing game with 25 assists and had two aces.
Juliet Banks notched 13 digs, two assists, and a pair of aces as well.
The first set started off tightly contested until a kill by Wells started a run. From there Chapman had back-to-back kills, followed by an ace from
Juliet Banks.
Shelby Lackey put in back-to-back kills to give the Patriots a 24-16 lead. Then an error from TWU ended the set.
In the second set the UC offence came alive, starting with a kill from Blumeier and an ace from Banks. A kill from
Olivia Verdecchia extended the lead to four, then Chapman put in back-to-back kills. A timeout and a block from TWU, tried to stop the UC run but it failed. Another ace by Banks kept the run going.
Allyson Grava notched back-to-back aces to open the gap to double digits. Two straight kills from Verdecchia put the Patriots at set point, and a kill from Wells ended it.
The third set started with UC showing off their defense at the net. Blocks came from Blumeier, Chapman, Verdecchia, and Wells. Chapman then put in two straight kills forcing a timeout by the Bulldogs. After the timeout the offense took over. Verdecchia put in a kill, then
Kendall Arnold got an ace. Chapman and Lackey added kills off passes by
Savanah Schwarz. Later in the set, Blumeier got an ace to make the lead 23-14.
Danielle Jackson added a kill, then Verdecchia retired the Bulldogs with a kill.
The team is now 7-3 on the season and are riding their longest win streak since 2019 when they won six straight matches. It also marks the first time since 2018 that the Patriots have recorded four consecutive sweeps, that time it was part of a six-match win streak. UC will be on the road next weekend to start conference play beginning Friday, September 10, when they will face off against Bethel University at 7 pm. For live stats click
