Bowling Green, KY – After helping the third-ranked Patriots close out the season with a win, Kacper Sobieszuk has capped off the week by earning the Mid-South Conference Swimmer of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.  It marks the second time this season that the freshman has garnered conference accolades.

Sobieszuk opened the meet by clocking a 50.95 to win the 100 fly.  That time was a season-best time for the freshman and ranks 16^th in the NAIA this season, while being the second fastest time in the Mid-South Conference this season.

The Lublin, Poland native followed that up with his second win of the meet in the 200 fly.  Sobieszuk pulled away from the seven swimmer field to touch the wall in 1:53.60 and win the event by four seconds.  It was the 11^th fastest mark in the NAIA this season and ranks third in the conference.  The freshman capped off his week with a third place finish in the 200 IM as he went 1:59.74.



Cumberlands defeated fifth-ranked Milligan 177-100 to complete a perfect dual meet season with a 5-0 record. 

UC now sets their sights on the Mid-South Conference championships, which are set to begin Thursday, February 3, in Kingsport, TN.
