Patriots Swimming & Diving Place 27 on CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots men's & women's swimming and diving programs are coming off a top-three finishes at the NAIA National Championships along with capturing the Mid-South Conference championship. Cumberlands continues to be a shining example for student-athletes achieving tremendous success both in the water as well as in the classroom as the Patriots had 27 student-athletes named a CSCAA Scholar-All-America.
 
Cumberlands 27 selections are the most by any NAIA team this season.
 
UC accounted for 27 of the 113 NAIA student-athletes that garnered this honor.  For the third straight year, the Patriots men's swimming & diving team had 14 honorees led by national champions Ruthiik Satti, Titouan Bernot, and Brandon HolderLeon Irmer, Alexander Poulsen, Adam Geddis, and Arvid Farro each captured multiple NAIA All-American accolades. Zsombor Bene, Will Gilbert, Fabrizio Pacioni, Josh Rielger, and Sergio Saldamando Martinez were first team selections.  Arda Mutlu and Luke Rich were second team honorees.
 
The Cumberlands women's team is highlighted by seven-time NAIA All-American and national champion Bella Hoare and five-time NAIA All-American Sarah Zoellner. Joining the duo on first team were Lauren Cox, Mara Ellerkamp, Juliana Lopez Morales, Filippa Malmstrom, Addison Ringwald, Megan Schoenlein, Ugne Takuseviciute, and Celin UllernMadeline Barbee, Judit Garreta Yuste, and Victoria Niska were second team selections.   
 
In total over 2,230 swimmers and divers from across the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA were recognized with this honor.
 
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship.  Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
