Bowling Green, KY – Hanne te Velthuis had one of her best meets as a Patriots tallying four wins with four national cuts in her final dual before the Mid-South Conference championship.  That performance earned the sophomore her first MSC Swimmer of the Week award of her career, announced Monday by conference officials.

In her two individual events, te Velthuis beat out seven competitors to take the top spot.  She clocked a 24.53 in the 50 free, which is over second faster than the NAIA provisional standard.  The Beerzarveld, Netherlands native followed that up by pulling away from the field and winning the 100 free with a time of 54.03.


 
Te Velthuis has also been a staple on the Patriots relays over the past two seasons.  On Saturday, she split a 25.90 in the fly as part of UC's 200 medley relay that went 1:51.62 and won the event.  Te Velthuis capped off the meet with a 52.88 split in the Patriots winning 400 free relay. 


 
Cumberlands defeated fifth-ranked Milligan 177-93 to complete a perfect dual meet season with a 5-0 record.
 
UC now sets their sights on the Mid-South Conference championships, which are set to begin Thursday, February 3, in Kingsport, TN.
