Coaches' Poll
Kansas City, MO – The Patriots Women's cross country team stayed strong with a 20
th place ranking in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll. This marks the third straight poll that UC have been given this ranking.
The past weekend was a good one for the Pats as they competed in the Royals Cross Country Challenge. This course saw the fastest times of the season from a majority of the squad, with a couple of times that earned a spot in the record books.
Ashlyn Liddle paced her 5k in 18:24.8, the 17
th fastest time in the history of the program. The Waynesburg, KY native earned a 25
th place finish out of 269 runners. She was followed by
Emily Bird who clocked the 25
th fastest time in school history with an 18:32.8. The freshman from Louisville, KY placed 31
st overall.
Cumberlands placed tenth overall in Charlotte out of the 27 scoring teams. They were the second NAIA school to finish behind Milligan, who remains the number one ranked team in the nation in this poll.
The top five teams solidified their spots from last week's poll. Milligan is first with 11 first place votes while Taylor is close behind with 10. Saint Mary comes in third with 550 overall points, St. Francis sits in fourth with 530 while The Masters rounds out the top-five once again earning 520 points. Cumberlands earned 232 points, the exact same as the second poll, to stay ranked 20
th. This is still tied with the highest ranking in program history.
UC is still the lone Mid-South Conference member mentioned in the top-25. Campbellsville earned 25 points to keep them as receiving votes.
