Ginevra Capo earns Mid-South Conference women's golfer of the week for the first time in her Patriot career after her outing at the Eagle Match Play Invitational last week. Capo went 2-1 at the tournament, including a knock-off win against a reigning NAIA First Team All-American.
The Freshman was paired up with Emilie Hill of Midway in the quarterfinal round of the Invitational. The two golfers battled head-to-head putting up one of the most competitive matches of the weekend. Capo and Hill tied 17 of the 18 holes, however Capo won on hole one to put her 1UP against her opponent. Capo clinched a point for her team, assisting in their 4-1 victory over Midway.
In the semi-finals, the Patriots faced off against #3 Dalton State. Despite losing the round to the Roadrunners, but Capo notched UC's loan point as she defeated 2022 NAIA First Team All-American Sydney Hermann 3&2.
Capo rounded out the tournament in a match against Milligan's NAIA All-American Alayna Perryman. Perryman took the win 5&3 but Capo was able to tie her opponent on seven holes.
This is the first Mid-South award of Capo's career, as she entered the team as a freshman this year. Head Coach
