Women’s Golf Opens the 2026-27 Season Ranked 7th in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll

Kansas City, MO - Coming off a Mid-South Conference Championship and its best national finish since 2019, the University of the Cumberlands women's golf team opens the 2026-27 season ranked No.7 in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the national office.

The Patriots put together a strong 2025-26 campaign, capturing four tournament titles before claiming the MSC Championship with a three-round score of 933 (+69). UC went on to place fifth at the NAIA National Championship with a 927 (+63), marking its first top-five finish at nationals since 2019.

Leading Cumberlands into the new season are seniors Atchariya Thanaudomkul and Ainslee Cruce, along with sophomore Jasmine Points.

Thanaudomkul earned NAIA Second Team All-American and MSC First Team All-Conference honors after averaging 75.4 strokes across 29 rounds. She captured medalist honors at the Patriot Invite and closed the season tied for 11th at the NAIA National Championship, earning All-Tournament Team recognition.

Points made an immediate impact as a freshman, earning NAIA Third Team All-American honors, MSC First Team All-Conference recognition, and MSC Freshman of the Year. She averaged 76.0 strokes per round and tied for 15th at the NAIA National Championship to earn a spot on the NAIA All-Tournament Team.

Cruce returns after averaging 76.3 strokes across 29 rounds and earning MSC First Team All-Conference honors. She recorded two individual tournament victories, including a 143 (-1) performance to win the East Tennessee Collegiate, before finishing tied for 18th at nationals.

Sophomore Malainey Dobbs also returns after competing in two tournaments during her freshman season and earning MSC Academic All-Conference and NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. 

The Patriots add freshmen Haley Feterspiel and Georgia Scott to round out the 2026-27 roster.

The Patriots lead the Mid-South Conference at No. 7, followed by Lindsey Wilson at No. 13 and Cumberland (Tenn.) at No. 14.
