Paducah, KY – The #7 University of the Cumberlands women's golf team wrapped up play at the Velvet Classic on Tuesday, finishing 13th in the NCAA Division I field at the Country Club of Paducah. The Patriots finished the three-round tournament with a team score of 949 (+85).
Jasmine Points led the way for Cumberlands, tying for 10th overall with a three-round total of 224 (+8). After opening with an 81 (+9), Points fired a 67 (-5) in the second round, tying the program record for the lowest single-round score in Cumberlands women's golf history. She closed the tournament with a 76 (+4) to secure the top-10 finish.
Atchariya Thanaudomkul was next for the Patriots, finishing tied for 39th with a 235 (+19). She closed the tournament with an 85 (+13) in the final round.
Ainslee Cruce finished one stroke behind Thanaudomkul, tying for 45th with a three-round total of 236 (+20). Cruce carded an 80 (+8) in the final round to close out the tournament.
Freshman Haley Federspiel finished tied for 69th in her first tournament with the Patriots, posting a 259 (+43) over three rounds. Georgia Scott rounded out the Cumberlands lineup in 73rd place with a 263 (+47).
Competing individually, Malainey Dobbs finished 74th with a three-round score of 267 (+51). Dobbs turned in an 86 (+14) during the final round.
The Patriots will return to action Oct. 5-6 when they travel to Dalton, GA, for the Roadrunner Fall Invite / NAIA Preview.
