Bowling Green, KY - The #19 UC women's golf team finished runner-up in the Mid-South Conference Fall Championships this afternoon, after playing 54 holes at the Bowling Green Country Club. Freshman Ginevra Capo earns Medalist honors after her performances on greens throughout the tournament.

Capo lead the way for the Patriots, garnering first place in her MSC tournament debut. Coming into day two of the tournament, Capo sat in fifth place. She finished out round two early this morning and ended with a 76 (+4). She tied her second round score in the last 18 holes, bringing her final score to 233 (+17), which gave her the top spot on the leaderboard by a stroke. So far this season, the freshman has tied for 13^th and sixth place in prior tournaments. This outing marks her best performance as a Patriot to become the second UC golfer to earn Medalist honors this season.

Right behind Capo, was Maria Neira who tied for second with Anna Krieger of Cumberland University finishing with a 54-hole total of 234 (+18). Neira came into the day tied for third but was able to pull ahead and lead the Pats to their second place finish. In the final round of 18, she carded one birdie and 13 shots on par for a score of 76 (+4). 

Rounding out the team score for the Cumberlands is Viviane Braun and Sharon Holczer. Braun finished the tournament tied for 11^th place with a combined score of 240 (+24). Braun's best score came in round two of the invitational, where she cared a 77(+5) with 13 shots on par. Holczer finished the tournament in 20^th place witch a combined score of 246 (+30). She notched three birdies during the invitational on holes 5, 13, and 18.

Also competing for the Patriots was Emily Allen. Allen tied for 34^th place with a 54-hole total of 259 (+43). Allen's best work came in the second round, where she carded an 81 (+9) with two birdies.

The women's golf team bounces back from the fourth place finish they earned in last year's MSC Fall Championship. This is the last tournament the team will compete at before returning to the greens in the Spring of 2023.
