Crestview Hills, KY – Two double-doubles was not enough as the eight-game win streak comes to an end and the Patriots fall short against the Thomas More Saints 3-0 (22-25, 23-25, 27-25). Cumberland moves to 20-8.  

Allyson Grava had the first double double as she tallied 15 kills and 17 digs. Kendall Arnold had the second double-double as she ended the match with 24 assists and 13 digs. Anna Blumeier added 12 kills, while Emily Prewitt ended with four kills and three blocks. Juliet Banks was close to a double double, as she finished with 30 digs and eight assists. Danielle Jackson ended the night with three kills, two blocks, and an ace.

Cumberlands was able to keep each set close but ran out of steam at the end of sets. With the Pats down 20-17 in the opening set Blumeier would cut the gap to 0ne with back-to-back kill. After a Saints point, Blumeier notched another kill, followed by a Grava kill two plays later. Grava's kill tied the set at 22-22, after a Thomas More timeout, the Saints scored three to take the set.

In set two the Pats started hot, holding a 17-15 lead after a Prewitt kill. A few plays later, Grava would gave the Patriots back the lead with a kill. After a UC timeout, the Saints went on a late run to take the set.

Set three was back and forth the whole way, with Thomas More being able to edge it out to get the match win. Cumberlands returns to Williamsburg for their last two regular season games, starting with Freed-Hardeman on November 4^th at 6 pm. Then on the 5^th, UC will have their Rally 4 SPED night as they host Bethel at 6 pm.
