Coaches' Poll
Kansas City, MO – After a solid performance over the weekend, UC's Women's Cross Country stay ranked 20^th in the NAIA's most recent Coaches' Poll. This remains tied as the highest ranking in program history.
 
The Live in Lou Classic was the lone race Cumberlands ran in since the last poll came out. The Patriots placed 24^th out of 47 teams in Louisville, beating multiple NCAA DI and NAIA teams without one of their top runners, Emily Bird.
 
"This is a testament to the strength of our women. We sat one of our top runners this past weekend and the ladies held their own," said Coach Sowder on his team's performance.
 
Victoria Shedron and Ashlyn Liddle stepped up, posting personal best times to lead UC on the day. A trio of sophomores, Lauren Sanderson, Ashley Terry, and Nevaeh Warren, also played a major role scoring in the top-five as well.
 
Cumberlands received 232 points in the poll, over 30 points higher than the 21^st ranked squad. Milligan remains at the top of the poll with Taylor (IN) right behind in second. Saint Mary (KS) comes in at third with St. Francis (IL) and The Masters rounding out the top-five.
 
UC and Coach Sowder are looking forward to the rest of the season, "We continue to just stay focused on our own objectives and not too far ahead of ourselves and the results will speak for themselves."
 
The Pats will step up to the starting line in Charlotte, NC on Friday as they compete in the Royals Cross Country Challenge. The first race is set to begin at 3:30.
