Williamsburg, KY – The Women's Cross Country team qualified for their third straight NAIA National Championships as a team this season. The final race of the year is slated for November 18^th in Talahassee, FL, starting at 9:30 AM ET.
 
UC started off the year strong with a first-place finish at the Berea/Centre Jamboree. This was a two-mile race where newcomers Ashlyn Liddle and Emily Bird placed first and second overall. Just two weeks later, Cumberlands put together a second place performance at the NAIA XC Pre-Nationals event on the same course that the National Championships are being held.
 
October was a busy month for the Pats as they competed three times. A 24^th place team finish out of 47 teams across all collegiate divisions began the month for UC. They then took 10^th out of 27 teams in Charlotte, NC before traveling north to the Great Lakes Challenge where they came away with a 12^th place finish against some of the toughest competition in the country.
 
The Mid-South Conference Championships were hosted Nov. 4^th in Bowling Green, KY and the Patriots dominated once again as they brought home another MSC Title, their third in a row. Bird placed second overall and earned MSC Freshman of the Year. Liddle came away with a fifth place finish while Victoria Richardson placed eighth, both earning spots on the MSC First-Team.
 
A trio of runners garnered Second-team All-Conference honors in Bowling Green with top-20 placings. Lauren Sanderson earned her second straight All-Conference honors while Ashley Terry and Nevaeh Warren earned this honor for the first time as Patriots. Head Coach Bradley Sowder brought hardware back to the Burg as well after being named MSC Women's Coach of the Year in his first season at UC.
