Lebanon, TN –The (RV) Patriots women's basketball team outscored Cumberland 40-25 in the second to pull past the (RV) Phoenix for a 68-52 win Saturday afternoon at Dallas Floyd Arena. The win was the 800
th victory in the program's history along with their 201
st conference win as the Patriots move to 11-3 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
Kassie Monday led the way with 20 points, 6 assists, and five rebounds.
Kaylie Monday chipped in 15 points and three rebounds, while
Lakin Burke chipped in nine points and six rebounds.
Destiny Haworth and
Channing Lewis combined for 15 points and six rebounds, while
Kaedlee Potter grabbed six boards.

Channing Lewis got the scoring started for UC putting the Patriots in front 4-2, three minutes into the game. A possession later,
Kassie Monday found
Destiny Haworth from long range to spark a 12-0 run, that included converted three from behind-the-arc to put Cumberlands in front 16-4 with 4:27 remaining. The Phoenix scored six unanswered before
Kaylie Monday hit her second three-pointer of the period as UC took a 19-11 advantage.
Cumberland opened the second quarter on an 8-4 to cut the lead to four points, before
Kassie Monday found Lewis for a three-pointer to make it 26-19 midway through the period.
Kassie Monday added a layup in the closing minute as the Patriots took a 28-27 lead at the break.

Destiny Haworth for a three extending UC's lead to 33-27, two minutes in. The two teams traded points over the next several minutes until Potter grabbed an offensive rebound and kicked out to
Kassie Monday for three putting the Patriots in front 41-34 with 1:50 left. The Clarkrange, TN native added a layup as Cumberlands took a 43-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
UC continued their strong play into the final period as with a 5-2 run capped up by a
Joy Kendrick layup extended the lead to 48-41 with 7:36 remaining. The two teams traded baskets over the next couple of minutes before Burke adds a layup to give UC a 57-48 lead with 2:46 left. The Patriots added eight free throws, while
Brittni Allison drained a three-pointer for the 68-52 final.
