Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced 13 Patriots men's wrestlers named on the Academic All-Conference list on Wednesday morning. Eric Beecham is back-to-back Champion of Character winner for UC.

Representing Cumberlands on the academic list for the second year is Beecham, O'Brian Black, Harrison Brooks, Chasen Brown, Charlie Friedenreich, Truman Galusha, Ryan McManus, Jacob McNutt, Sam Morris, DeVaughn Sapien, and Jarod Swank. Two Patriots earned this honor for the first time, Ryan Franco and Luke Linton.

Life had the most honorees with 27, followed by Cumberlands who had the second-most award winners with 13, while St. Thomas had 9.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

Six will be a part of the 12 Patriots wrestlers competing at the upcoming MSC Championships this weekend. The North Division tournament will take place on Saturday in Bowling Green, KY at the Ephram White Gymnasium.

Teams competing in the North Division include Cumberlands, Lindsey Wilson, Midway, Thomas More, Rio Grande, and Campbellsville. The remaining teams will compete in the South Division tournament in Lakeland, FL.

The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
