Bowling Green, KY – The Patriots women's basketball team is hard at work gearing up for the Mid-South Conference tournament and on Tuesday 11 members of the team earned MSC Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced.  The 11 honorees are the most in women's basketball program history.

The Patriots have had four players that have earned this honor multiple times led by Abbey Estes and Jasmyne Stewart, who have earned it each of the past three seasons.  Abbi Douglas and Shelby McDaniel have earned this distinction for the second straight year. 

In addition to those four, UC had seven newcomers garner this honor led by Lillie Hall, Destiny Haworth, Channing Lewis, and Shelby Moore.  Kaylee Mathis, Allyson Anderson, and Zoe Williams are also first time recipients.

In addition to earning Academic All-Conference honors, Douglas was also named to the MSC Champion of Character team.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and been in college for two semesters.  A total of 94 student-athletes from across the NAIA earned this distinction.

Cumberlands went 19-11 on the season, including a 13-9 mark in MSC play to earn the third-seed in the conference tournament.

The Patriots will host sixth-seed Pikeville Friday, February 25, in the quarterfinals of the MSC Tournament.   Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. EST with live video available here.
