NAIA Top 10 Coaches' Poll
Kansas City, MO - After opening up the season 1-0, the UC men's lacrosse team received 55 points to be ranked fourth in the NAIA Top-10 Coaches' Poll, announced by the national office Wednesday.
The Patriots are coming off of a 9-5 win over Webber International last Sunday, which brings UC to a 1-0 starting record and in conference play.
Leading the Cumberlands offense are
Dawson Coltran and
Dylan Crouch as they earned three points each after netting six goals collectively.
Defensively, the Patriots are backed by senior
Will Settle, who made 11 saves in their home opener. Returning midfielder,
Jake Morgan scooped nine groundballs and caused three turnovers against the Warriors.
Reinhardt earned 66 points and six first-place votes to take the top of the poll, Keiser comes second with 59 points. St. Ambrose and Columbia make up the rest of the top five with 58 and 52 votes. AAC rivals Tennessee Wesleyan, Webber, and St. Andrews all received votes.
Cumberlands will return to the field Friday, February 25, when they host the sixth-ranked Concordia at the UC Lacrosse Complex. The game is set to begin at 5 pm.
