NAIA Top 10 Coaches Poll
Kansas City, MO – Starting the year 3-1 with a 17-6 win over seventh-ranked Siena Heights, the Patriots women's lacrosse team earned 90 points to be ranked second in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, announced by the national office Wednesday. It marks the second straight poll that the Patriots have been ranked second in the NAIA.
Cumberlands has outscored their opponents 72-19 so far this season and tallied their sixth shutout in program history. The Patriots have six players that have recorded at least 10 points this season, led by
Bella Ricchiazzi who has 15 goals and 22 points.
Stephanie Meyer has dished out 13 assists that ranks her second in the NAIA along with 15 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
UC is also strong on the backline with five players recording at least five caused turnovers.
Aleyah Belton is leading the charge with nine caused turnovers, while
Trinity Brown and Meyer have eight apiece. Christina Min has scooped 26 draw controls and seven ground balls over the first four games.
Olivia McCarrell had made 14 saves and a 45.2% save percentage to start the season.
The Patriots have now been ranked second in the NAIA in 11 straight polls.
Defending NAIA champion Keiser earned 98 points, including all eight first place votes to be ranked atop the poll. Lawrence Tech, Life, and Reinhardt round out the top five.
