Bowling Green, KY – Coming off scoring a career-high 26 points and helping the Patriots knock off top-ranked Thomas More 87-79, sophomore Abbi Douglas earned the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday.  It marks the first time in Douglas career that she garnered this accolade.

Douglas was instrumental in the Patriots taking down the Saints as she went for 26 points, grabbed seven rebounds along with three steals and three assists in the win.  The Ashland City, TN native went a career-best 10-10 from the charity stripe in the game to lead the Patriots free throw shooting efforts as a team UC shot 92.6% (25-27) from the line.  Douglas scored at six points in each quarter of the game and grabbed three rebounds in both the first and fourth quarter of the games.



Earlier in the week, the sophomore posted a 12 point six rebound performances in UC's road win over Shawnee State.  Douglas went 5-7 from the field and 2-2 from the charity stripe in just 20 minutes of action.  She tallied six points in both the second and third quarters to help the Patriots pull away from the Bears. 

On the week, Douglas shot 55.6% from the field and a perfect 12-12 from the charity stripe.  Her 4.3 rebounds per game average was second on the team.  The sophomore is having a breakout season averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game this season.
