NAIA Top 10 Coaches Poll

Kansas City, MO – The Patriots women's lacrosse team is riding a seven-game win streak that includes four wins over teams that are ranked or receiving votes in national poll  to be ranked second in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, announced by the national office Wednesday.  The Patriots notched 91 points, including one first place votes to hold strong at the #2 position.

Cumberlands has outscored their opponents 182-52 so far this season and leads the NAIA with a 5.20 goals against average.  UC has limited their opponents to five goals or less six times during the season as The Patriots 160 caused turnovers are second most in the NAIA.  Cumberlands also leads the NAIA with 180 draw controls and are ranked third in the NAIA averaging 18.2 goals per game. 

UC has seven players that have tallied at least 20 points this season led by the reigning NAIA Player of the Week Bella Ricchiazzi, who has recorded 41 goals, 22 assists, and 63 points so far this season.  Reegan Hensely is having a breakout season with 28 goals, while Aleyah Belton and Katie Wharton have netted 21 and 20 goals, respectfully.  Stephanie Meyer is tied for the team lead with 22 assists and is second on the team with 38 points.

Trinity Brown has been dominant on the draw control with 71, while she has as team-high 26 caused turnovers as well.  Erin Bryant, Hannah Churchley, and Christina Min have continued to stifle opposing offenses combining for 29 caused turnovers and 39 ground balls so far this season. Olivia McCarrell leads the NAIA with a 5.07 goals against average as her .577 save percentage is ranked second in the country.

The Patriots have now been ranked second in the NAIA in 12 straight polls.

Lawrence Tech tallied six first-place votes and 96 points to be ranked first in the poll, while MSC rivals Keiser and Life are ranked fourth and fifth, respectfully. 

Cumberlands will return to the field Wednesday when the travel to Crestview Hills, KY for their MSC opener against Thomas More.  The game is set for 5 p.m. with live stats available here and live video available here.
