Columbus, GA – The Patriots men's swimming team posted another strong day highlighted by a national runner-up finish to be in third place of the team standings with 235 points Friday night at the Columbus Aquatic Center.  UC recorded three All-American swims on the evening.

Ruben Gonzalez de Oliveira captured a national runner-up finish in the 200 free. After going 1:40.32 in the prelims to earn the third-seed for the finals.  The freshman split a 47.34 and closed out with a 52.08 to touch the wall in 1:39.09 and notch UC's highest individual finish at these championships.

Cumberlands opened finals with Enzo Esteves, Nathan Souza, Martin Herion, and Julio Heck da Silva teaming up to place fifth in the 200 medley relay.  The quartet clocked a time of 1:33.06 to earn All-American honors.

Mikolaj Kala recorded All-American honors in the 100 breast.  The sophomore clocked a 56.24 in the finals to place seventh.  Nathan Souza reached the consolation final and touched the wall in 57.76 to finished 15^th and earn two points.

In the 100 fly, Martin Herion went 50.61 to finish tenth, while Kacper Sobieszuk's time of 50.66 earned him a 12^th place finish.

John Morgan McDonald scored in his second individual event of the championships with a 14^th place finish in the 200 free, clocking a time of 1:43.19.

Keiser is atop the team leader board with 536 points, while SCAD Savannah is in second place with 261 points.

Cumberlands will look to cap off the championships strong with the final day of competition Saturday.  Prelims are set to begin at 9 a.m. with finals scheduled for 5 p.m.
