Wichita, KS – The Duo of All-Americans wrapped up their National Tourney run today, led by Aaron Johnson who tied his career best finish in third. And Bryce Nickel finished in sixth, marking his new career best.

Starting the day in the consolation bracket, sixth ranked Johnson knew he had to string together three wins to finish in third, and he got it done. He opened the day with an early takedown against 12^th ranked KC Buday from Providence. Johnson capitalized on the takedown with a fall in 1:15. He followed that win up with a 3-2 decision win over Grand Views third ranked Tommy Mommer. This match came down to the final minutes as Johnson notched a takedown for the 3-1 lead with 1:10 left. After Mommer escaped, Johnson kept his distance not allowing any last second shots to get through. Then came the third-place match, featuring second ranked Odgerel Batkhishig from Doane. After the first period Johnson would score first, off an escape in the second period. Batkhishig responded with an escape in the third period. Then in the first overtime period, Batkhishig got a costly penalty, giving Johnson the 2-1 sudden victory for third place.

Fifth ranked Nickel had a slow start, as he lost by tech fall to first ranked Baterdene Boldmaa of Doane. This sent him to the consolation bracket. In the first match of the consolation rounds, he faced third ranked Shea Ruffridge from Grand View, for the second time this season. Nickel would get two points from escapes, but a strong third period from Ruffridge got him the 10-2 win. With Nickel advancing so far in the bracket, he earned a spot in the fifth-place match against sixth ranked Juilian Hernardez from life. After being tied 1-1, the match saw three overtimes. Hernandez would get the top-bottom causality win, after having more riding time than Nickel in the final two overtimes.
