Brown’s Stellar Performance Earns Her MSC Defensive Player of the Week

Bowling Green, KY – Coming off one of her strongest performances of the season, Patriots defender Trinity Brown has been named the MSC Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.  It marks the third time in her career that she has garnered this award.

In the Patriots 13-2 win over #10 Missouri Baptist, Brown anchored a Patriots defense that held the Spartans scoreless over the first 55 minutes of action.  The junior also forced a career-high five turnovers, which is tied for fifth most in program history.  It mark the fifth time this season that she has multiple caused turnovers in a game as she climbed to second place on career list. 

Brown also scooped a season-high five ground balls in the win, while tallying five draw controls.  The Fayetteville, GA native continues to leave her mark all over the field as she added an assist in the game as well.

The junior leads the team with 16 caused turnovers on the season, which is ranked seventh in the NAIA this season.  Brown also has 29 draw controls and 16 ground balls.

UC is 5-1 on the year with a pair of wins over NAIA ranked opponents.  The Patriots return to the field Wednesday, March 9, when they host Truett McConnell at 5 p.m.
