Shan Housekeeper has been busy with the offseason program and has been filling out his coaching staff for the 2022 season. Patriots fan might be familiar with one of the coaches on the sideline as
Boston Bryant is returning to coach the defensive line.
"This place is home to me and this program means a lot to me and my family," said Bryant. "The relationships built in my time here are ones that I will cherish forever."
Bryant is beginning his sixth year coaching at UC after being hired as a graduate assistant in 2017. The following year he was elevated to the defensive line coach leading one of the Patriots most successful position groups. In his time with the Patriots, UC has recorded 113 sacks, averaging 28.3 sacks per season. Bryant has coached multiple All-Conference selections, including
Kumi Sarpong Jr. and
Kendall Adams-Young. Sarpong Jr. has notched 18.5 sacks so far over his career to be fourth in program history, while Adams-Young was a MSC First-Team All-Conference selection during the 2021 season.
Bryant is a Williamsburg, KY native that graduated from Whitley County High School, before going to Wofford College. He was a two-year captain for the Terriers.
Bryant is married to his wife Justice and the couple has two kids, Oakland (3) and London (9 mo.).

The Patriots will kickoff there 2022 season on Saturday, August 27, when they host Union in a Battle for the Brass Lantern. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at James H. Taylor, II Stadium.
