Crossville, TN- Through 36 holes at the MSC Spring Classic, the Cumberlands women's golf team sits in third place overall after carding a team score of 604 (+28) on day one.

Leading the way for the Patriots on day one was Emily Allen who currently sits tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard. Starting the day on hole four, Allen got off to a hot start tallying five pars and an eagle through six of her first seven holes of the day. On hole 15 of the course, the freshman only needed 4 strokes to reach the pin on the 396 yard par five. Allen opened her second round of 18 holes on the day with four pars on her first five holes of the round. The freshman concluded day one with a two round score of 155 (+11), tallying 19 pars, two birdies, and an eagle through 36 holes.

Maria Neira sits tied for 10th overall on the individual leaderboard after day one of the MSC Spring Classic. Neira's best round of the day came during her second round. Through her second set of 18 holes of the day, the freshman recorded 13 pars and a birdie for a second round score of 75 (+3). The Caracas, Venezuela native finished the day with a combined 36 hole score of 158 (+14), carding 22 pars and 2 birdies on the day.
Viviane Braun sits in 17^th place on the individual leaderboard after day one of the MSC Spring Classic. Braun's best round also came during her second set of 18 holes of the day. The senior opened the tournament recording five pars and a birdie on the front nine holes of the course. Through 36 holes, the Wegberg, Germany native carded 20 pars and a birdie for a combined score of 163 (+19).
Sharon Holczer sits tied for 29^th on the individual leaderboard through 36 holes of the tournament. Holczer got off to a hot start during her second round in Crossville, carding six straight pars and a birdie to open up the second round of the tournament. The Caracas, Miranda native carded a combined 36 hole score of 173 (+29), while adding 15 pars and two birdies.

Coming in at tied for 38^th on the individual leaderboard was Elena Hortian. Hortian's best round came during round one where he carded an 18 hole score of 90 (+18). The sophomore concluded day one with a combined two round score of 182 (+38), carding 16 pars on the day.

The UC women's golf team will be back in action tomorrow to conclude the MSC Spring Classic.
