Bowling Green, KY - For the second time in 2022, Mattis Le Montagner was named the MSC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, announced the Mid-South on Monday. Mattis comes off a dominant weekend of action against MSC competition, going 6-0 on the week.

Le Montagner began his weekend run against UT Southern at home on Thursday, April 7th, with a pair of wins. Mattis competed as part of the #2 doubles tandem alongside Luis Montull with the dynamic duo grabbing their 10th win in doubles play on the season by a count of 7-5 (7-4). Mattis then dominated going solo at the #2 spot against the Firehawk's Martin Cabrerra, winning 6-2, 6-1.

Mattis kept things rolling against Thomas More on Friday with another pair of wins. He and Luis Montull were in the #3 spot against the Saints and once again they grabbed the win with a 6-3 victory. Le Montagner didn't stop there as he earned his second win of the week in singles play when he matched up with Thomas More's Alonso DePrada at #2. After holding on to win the first set 6-4, Mattis dominated in the second 6-0 on his way to his six straight win.

Le Montagner capped off the week with another pair of victories in the sweep of Shawnee State Saturday afternoon with both of them coming in convincing fashion. Mattis and Montull played well again at the #3, defeating the Bears duo 6-1. The native of France then closed out his week with another win to go 6-0 in his three matches, defeating his SSU counterpart 6-1, 6-0.

Mattis is making a run at his second MSC All-Conference nod in as many seasons, putting together a strong campaign to this point. Le Montagner is 24-9 overall on the season with a 14-3 mark in conference play. Le Montagner has been playing some of his bast tennis of late as he has won his last seven singles contests and six straight in doubles play.

The Patriots have two more contests on there regular season schedule with their final home match taking place against Marian on Wednesday while their season finale being on Friday on the road, traveling to Georgetown to take on the Tigers.
