Patriots Veterans Sweep MSC Lacrosse Player of the Week Accolades

Bowling Green, KY – The second-ranked UC women's lacrosse team closed out their regular season with a pair of MSC North Division wins, including an 18-4 win over tenth-ranked Georgetown.  Bella Ricchiazzi and Trinity Brown both notched a program record on the week which helped lead the to sweep the conference accolades for the third time this season.

Ricchiazzi garnered the MSC Player of the Week honors after notching 15 goals, 5 assists, and 20 points on the week.  The Framingham, MA native tied her career-high with eight goals and her 11 points in the win marks the fourth time she reached double-digits this season.  Ricchiazzi was involved in UC's first four goals as she became the Patriots career points leader with 385 points.  The junior followed that up with seven goals and two assists in Cumberlands win over the Tigers.  Ricchiazzi added four caused turnovers and five ground balls as she is ranked second in the NAIA in goals, assists, and points this season.

Brown has set a conference record becoming the first women's lacrosse player to be named player of the week five times in a season as she earns her four Defensive Player of the Week award in the last five weeks.  The junior continued to be active all over the field as she tallied 22 draw controls, eight ground balls, and six caused turnovers on the week.  Brown scooped a career-high 14 draw controls in the win over Thomas More, which is third most in program history.  The Fayetteville, GA native also became the program's single season leader in draw controls after winning eight against Georgetown.  Brown added five ground balls and two caused turnovers against the Tigers.

The Patriots finished the regular season with a 16-1 record, including a 6-0 mark against the MSC North.  

UC will return to the field Thursday, April 21, as they are the top-seed in the north division and will face Webber in the quarterfinals.  The game is set for 11 a.m. with live video available here.
