Williamsburg, KY– Patriots gets a sweep on senior day as they beat the Tigers 6-3 in the first game and 13-4 in the second on Saturday afternoon. This sweep gets the UC win streak to 12 and moves the season record to 38-12. Cumberlands also recognized 11 seniors today,

Ray Villanueva.
Game One
Braxton Cottongame notched his seventh win of the season as he pitched 5.2 innings scattering three runs over eight hits, with three walks and two strikeouts.
Chipper Korbacher got his fifth save of the year as he came in and pitched 1.1 innings allowing a hit and a strikeout.
Offensively,
Seth Benner led the way going 2-3 with a homer and three RBIs.
Raphy Almanzar also had a good game going 2-4 with a homerun of his own.
Georgetown scored the games first run in the top of the second and UC answered with two runs to take the lead. Villanueva led off with a single to left center then stole second a few pitches later. Benner followed with a single down the right field line for an RBI to tie the game at 1-1. Two batters later, Rolon got walked, then another two batters later Cheely notched an RBI single to take the 2-1 lead.
After holding the Tigers scoreless, UC put up two more runs to take the 4-1 lead. With one out,
Sujel Arias singled to left field. Two batters later, Benner hit a two out two run bomb over center field for the 4-1 lead.
Georgetown scored two runs in the fourth before the Pats put up one of their own in the fifth. Villanueva opened the at bat by reaching on an error and advancing on the throw. Two batters later, Encarnacion got an RBI single to right field for the 5-3 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth, Almanzar hit a no doubt homerun over the left field fence to take the 6-3 lead. Georgetown was held scoreless in the seventh, giving UC the 2-0 series lead.
Game Two
With the series won, the Patriots took the field looking to get back-to-back MSC sweeps. Gutierrez got his final regular season start of his career and went out notching his eighth win of the season. He pitched 7.0 innings only giving up four runs on seven hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
Jake Kampen came in and pitched 2.0 innings of relief only giving up one hit and one strikeout.
Offensively, Arias had a game, he went 4-4 with a homer, a double, and four RBIs. Villanueva continued his hot week notching his fifth homer of the week.
Clay Shelton also had a good game going 3-4 with two RBIs.
Both offenses got going early, Tigers scored two runs to start the game and UC answered with three runs and would never trail again. With one out, Almanzar got walked and a few plays later advance to second on a wild pitch. Arias would then get walked and Villanueva following with a homerun over the left field fence to give Cumberlands the 3-2 lead.
After holding the Tigers scoreless, UC put up a five-run inning to take a commanding 8-2 lead. Shelton led off the inning with a walk, and
Kevin Perez came into courtesy run. Two batters later, Cheely would get walked as well. After a pitching change, Almanzar reached first on an error to fill the bases.
Charlie Muniz stepped up and hit a single through the left side to drive in a run. Then with the bases still loaded, Arias hit a bomb down the right field line for the grand slam and the 8-2 lead.
A couple scoreless innings later, Cumberlands scored one run to expand the lead. Benner led off by getting hit by a pitch. Two batters later, Shelton got a single up the middle, and
Luis Alvarez followed with an RBI single through the left side for the 9-2 lead.
In the top of the seventh, Georgetown scored two runs before the Pats answered with four of their own. Benner got walked to start the inning, and Encarnacion followed with a double down the left field line. Shelton then stepped up and hit a single down the left field line for two RBIs and the 11-4 lead. Alvarez then tripled to center field for an RBI. Cheely would bring home Alvarez on an RBI groundout for the final run of the game.
Cumberlands return to action to close out the season on Tuesday as they head up to IU Southeast for the final game of the season, First pitch is set for 3 pm.
