Gustav Barden and
Jarryd Elliott have both received Mid-South All-Conference nominations. Barden was named First-Team All-Conference while Elliott garnered Second-Team All-Conference Honors, announced by conference officials on Sunday.
Barden earns All-Conference accolades for the second time in his Patriots career. As a freshman last spring, Barden was named Second Team All-Conference. The Karlstad, Varmland native has provided quite the veteran leadership to the Cumberlands lineup. At the Mid-South Conference Spring Classic, Barden notched a three-round score of 224 (+8) to capture a share of third place on the individual leaderboard. At the event, Barden tallied a team-high 28 pars, nine birdies, and an eagle. Barden's best tournament of the season came back in the fall of the Georgetown College Fall Invite. Across 36-holes at the tournament, the sophomore carded a 144 (E) to finish in second place on the individual leaderboard. Of UC's nine tournaments this season, Barden has finished at least top-25 in all of them.
Elliott receives All-Conference recognition for the first time in his career. The Witbank, South Africa native's tournament of the season came back in the fall during the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate. The sophomore carded a 36-hole score of 144 (E) to earn a share of third place on the individual leaderboard. Across the 36 holes at the tournament, Elliott tallied 16 pars and 8 birdies to finish in the top-five in his third straight tournament of the fall. Of the Patriots nine events this season, Elliott secured top-20 finishes in four of them.
