CoSIDA Academic All-District® Honorees
Williamsburg, KY – For the second straight season,
Hailey Wood earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® Honors and joining her on the list is
Maddie Sickau. This marks the fourth straight season that UC softball has a student-athlete garner the award and the first time in those four years to have two in the same season. The CoSIDA Academic All-District® is divided into geographical regions with both Sickau and Wood in District 2.
Wood joins Hannah Stephenson as a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District® honorees for the Patriots. Wood is an Exercise and Sport Science major with a minor in Biology. The McMinnville, TN native just finished one of her most successful seasons for UC with First Team Mid-South Conference honors as well as a MSC Gold Glove for her defense in center field. She was second in the conference for stolen bases (39), second in triples (5), and 11
th in runs scored (45). Four UC, Wood was first in total bases, t-first in doubles (12), and first in slugging percentage (.549), and second in batting average (.346).
Sickau adds CoSIDA Academic All- District® to her long resume of accolades. The junior is a nursing major who has been on the MSC Academic All-Conference list three times in her career. She garnered First Team MSC honors for the third straight season as well. The Anderson County, TN native paced the Patriots in a number of offensive categories including average (.371), hits (56), on-base percentage and walks (28).
Both Sickau and Wood advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
