Williamsburg, KY – Patriots Head Softball Coach Nicole Thompson has bolstered her coaching staff with the addition of Assistant Coach JT Thompson for her first season at the helm.

"I couldn't be more excited to add JT to my coaching staff and have the opportunity to work along side him. I've watched his work ethic and passion for the game up close for years, and it will be a huge asset to this program," said Nicole Thompson.

JT Thompson brings over a decade of coaching experience to Williamsburg, mainly as an assistant baseball coach.  He comes to Cumberlands after serving as a math teach at Central High School in St. Joseph, MO the past several years. Prior to that he was a math teach at Loveland High School in Loveland, CO, while also serving as a coach with the Colorado RoughRiders in Superior, CO.   

"I'm excited to return to coaching, especially with the opportunity to work with Nicole," said JT Thompson.  "Being around this area and seeing the growth that has happened in the past decade has been phenomenal and I'm excited to help elevate this program."

JT Thompson began his coaching career spending three years as a graduate assistant at Union Commonwealth University.  After that he spent one year as an assistant coach for Indiana Tech, before returning to the Bulldogs for six seasons as the assistant baseball coach. 

JT Thompson will be focused on hitting and working with the outfielders.  The coaching veteran was a four-year player at Wittenberg University, where he majored in Accounting.

Thompson will reside in Williamsburg with his wife Nicole and two kids Kramer and Kash.
