Williamsburg, KY - The Patriots women's lacrosse team continued to build on their strong foundation capturing their second Mid-South Conference North Division title and fourth consecutive regular season title in program history.  This year's squad went 18-3 overall, including a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play.  Cumberlands set several program records and earned a plethora of accolades for their success on the field and in the classroom.

THE YEAR IN NUMBERS

Cumberlands led the NAIA in five statistical categories this season.  UC scored 400 goals, dished out 233 assists, and tallied 633 points.  In addition to their offensive success the Patriots scooped 367 draw controls and posted a NAIA-best 53.9% save percentage.

Bella Ricchiazzi tallied a career-high points; 100 goals and 61 assists.  She closed out the year ranked second in those categories and was named both the NAIA and MSC Player of the Year. Ricchiazzi also became UC's all-time leader in points and assists.

 Trinity Brown set a conference record earning MSC Defensive Player of the Week five times, including three consecutive weeks.  Brown was named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week three times and set the single season record for draw controls and caused turnovers.

Cumberlands had seven players earn MSC All-Conference honors, while earning a quartet of top honors.  Brown, Reegan Hensley, Olivia McCarrell and Ricchiazzi were first team all-conference selections, while Stephanie Meyer and Rachel Leigh earned second team honors, as Hannah Churchley was an Honorable Mention selection.  Brown earned MSC Defensive Player of the Year honors, while coaches Kelly Buikus and Tatiana Samuel swept the Coach of the Year awards.

 UC went on a 16 game win streak during the middle of the season with seven of those wins coming against teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top-Ten poll.  One of the key wins during the streak was the Patriots overcoming a six-goal deficit to defeat seventh-ranked Life 13-12 in double overtime.

The Patriots had a balanced attack with 12 players recording double-digit points on the year.  Of those 12 players seven of them finished the season with at least 45 points.

Olivia McCarrell record a program-best 6.17 goals against average.  She limited opponents to five goals or less 14 times on the season, while recording at least ten saves in four games.
