The UC softball team finished third in the Mid-South Conference compiling an overall record of 35-16, notching 30+ wins in a season for just the sixth time in the program's history.
THE YEAR IN NUMBERS

Cumberlands excelled on defense all season, putting up numbers among the best in the NAIA. UC turned 28 double plays, the second most in the country. They also put up one of the best fielding percentages of .967, ranking 15
th in the NAIA.

The Patriots also set program records this season, including the best team ERA in a single year. The six pitchers on UC's staff posted a 2.01 across 348 innings on the year. Three of the pitchers had a sub 2.00 ERA in
Kaiti White,
Talli Burgess and
Kaci Goedde.

In back-to-back seasons, the Patriots earned eight student-athletes on the Mid-South Conference All-Conference lists, which is tied for the most in a single season. UC also notched two Gold Glove winners, tying for the second most in the conference.

Just three games into the season and Head Coach
Bailey Dillender and Assistant Coach
Alyssa Richards won their 100
th career win, all of which have happened at Cumberlands. The team defeated #11 Georgia Gwinnett, 6-0, the first time the Grizzlies had been shutout since 2019.

For the team's final MSC road trip of the season, they not only swept Pikeville, but also did not concede a single run. The Patriots outscored the Bears, 27-0 across the four games marking the program's first ever four game shutout over a team in a single season.

UC stole the most bases of any team in the history of the program in 2022. Eight players combined for 108 swiped bags, led by
Emily Jasper (48) and
Hailey Wood (39). Jasper also broke the single season stolen base record and overall stolen base record (113).

UC had four different players get recognized as MSC Players of the Week, tying for the most in the conference.
Talli Burgess and
Kaiti White won in sequential weeks, the only back-to-back winners from a team in the conference. The duo was joined by
Meryn Livingston and
Morgan Radford as the other two Patriots to earn the honor.
