Williamsburg, KY – Coming off their highest finish at the NAIA National Championships, the UC men's swimming & diving team also excelled in the classroom as an NAIA-best nine swimmers were named CSCAA Scholar-All-America. Cumberlands was one of 10 NAIA teams that garnered CSCAA Scholar Team accolades, which was announced by the national office this week.

Creed Farthing,
John Morgan McDonald,
Daniel Ruiz Ramis,
Kacper Sobieszuk,
Nathan Souza were all First-Team Scholar All-America.
Peyton Berter,
Evan Hawkins,
Jakub Zaremba represented Cumberlands on the Honorable Mention list.
It was the second consecutive year the Esteves, Hawkins, McDonald, Ruiz Ramis, and Souza earned this distinction.
In total 1,206 swimmers and divers from across the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA were recognized with this honor. The NAIA had 45 honorees with Cumberlands leading the way followed by SCAD with eight.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections (also called Honorable Mention) must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
In addition to the individual success, Cumberlands was also recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. The Patriots were one of four schools that posted over a 3.35 team GPA for the semester.
Across the sport 731 teams from 441 institutions earned this honor for the Spring 2022 semester.
UC captured their fourth consecutive Mid-South Conference title and placed third at the 2022 NAIA National Championships.
