Yorktown, IN- The Patriots women's golf team finished in fifth place after shooting 910 (+46) over 54 holes during the two-day Players Club Invitational. Cumberlands closed out the tournament carding their best round of the season so far a 302 (+14), while UC had three golfers place within the top 20 of the individual leader board.

Maria Neira led the way for the Patriots. The sophomore carded a score of 76 (+4) during the third round, bringing her final score to 224 (+8). Neira notched in eight birdies during the invitational, three of which came in todays final round.

Right behind Neira sits Ginevra Capo, who comes home tied for 12^th place. Capo tied her first round of score of 74 (+2) during the third round bringing her to 225 (+9) on the outing. Capo also sank eight birdies of her own, four of which came in the final round.

Rounding out the team scores are Viviane Braun and Emily Allen. Coming into the final round, Braun sat in 26^th place, but jumped to 19^th after carding a 74 (+2) over the final 18 holes. Allen was able to shoot a 78 (+6) on the day bringing her to a total score of 232 (+7) which secured her a 25^th place finish.

Riley Clark tied her second round score of 82 (+10) to close out the tournament. Individual competitor, Elena Hortian came into the final round in 68^th place but posted her best round of the tournament, 79 (+7), to move eight up eight spots on the leaderboard.

The Patriots bring home a fifth place finish for the second year in a row. The women's team will join the men September 17 and 18 in Wilmore, KY to compete in the AU Invitational.
