NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll: 2

Kansas City, MO- For the first time in program history the Patriots Women's Soccer team is ranked fifth in the NAIA Coaches' Poll. So far this season UC has matched up against six, top ranked opponents in preparation for a long post season run.

Since the start of the 2022 season, UC has worked hard to defeat multiple top-25 opponents. Their third match of the season was against #3 Central Methodist, where the Pats battled against a tough CMU defense to bring home a 2-1 victory. Cumberlands also shutout #5 Spring Arbor in Lima, OH in early September.

The Patriots record sits at 4-0-2, with three multi-goal games and four shutouts. Right now the Patriots are averaging 1.67 goals a game with a shot on goal percentage of 0.526.

Cumberlands has received MSC Player of the Week awards four times this season. In the opening weekend, the Pats swept offensive and defensive awards with Jayden Boelter and Rita Aguye Cots. Then, goalkeeper Georgia Martell was awarded defensive player of the week in back-to-back polls after an impressive effort against #2 Spring Arbor. The most recent honor was given to Jayden Boelter after tallying 2 goals in a game against UNOH. With seven goals on the season, Boelter is tied for 9^th in the NAIA.

Head coach Steve Hamilton says, "I'm very happy with the effort we are getting from the players. We played a very difficult schedule and it continues tomorrow with Southeastern. Excited for another top test!"

Four teams from the Mid-South join UC in the Top-25, #7 Tennessee Southern, #15 Cumberland Tennessee, #21 Lindsey Wilson, and #25 Campbellsville. UC starts conference matches on September 22 when they face off against Freed- Hardeman University.

Cumberlands takes the field against #10 Southeastern in their first home match on September 15 at the UC Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7PM and live video can be viewed here.
