Tallahassee, FL - The (RV) Patriots placed three runners in the top-10 individual finishes as UC finished second in the team rankings, including being the top NAIA school, at the NAIA Pre-Nationals Meet Saturday afternoon.  This weekend gave Cumberlands a chance to race the course that will be utilized for the 2022 NAIA National Championships at the end of the season. 

Emily Bird led the way for UC as she placed fourth out of 113 runners in her first collegiate 5k. The freshman paced a 18:42.3 time to earn her second straight top-five finish. 

Ashlyn Liddle and Victoria Shedron raced down the final stretch together for seventh and eighth place finishes, both hitting personal best 5k times as well. Liddle crossed the finish line in 18:58.6 with Shedron right on her heels at 19:00. 

Sophomores Ashley Terry and Lauren Sanderson rounded out Cumberlands scorers on Saturday morning. Terry ran a 19:39.9 for 18th while Sanderson paced a 20:12.7 for 25th. 

Nevaeh Warren and Ella Henage placed 30th and 31st with times of 20:16.7 and 20:17.3, respectfully.  Abriella Overholser placed 44th (21:03.2), Kate Golden placed 50th (21:22.6), Morgan Lucason finished 54th (21:29.8), Carolyn Connelly finished 62nd (21:56.5), and Hannah Henage placed 64th (21:59.5) to round out the Patriots competitors.

Cumberlands tallied 49 points on the day to earn a second place finish behind NCAA Division 1 Florida Atlantic, who totaled 46 points. (RV) SCAD Savannah and (RV) Dalton State College we're the next two finishers with 83 and 113 points while Ave Maria rounded out the top-five with 118 points respectively. 

The Patriots will return to the course in two weeks as they travel to Louisville for the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic.
