Lexington, KY - After leading the pack on day one, Cumberlands closed the AU Fall Invite with another impressive round to take home the team title, Sunday afternoon. The Patriots carded a 314 (+26) in the final round to capture their first tournament win of the season with an overall score of 625 (+49).

Viviane Braun jumped from fourth place to atop the leaderboard for her first individual title of her career with a combined score of 151 (+7). She improved upon her first round scored by three strokes, finishing with a 73 (+1), which is tied for the second lowest round of her career. The Wegberg, Germany native was able to better her score by tallying a trio of birdies on day two. Braun made adjustments from her first day on the course 78 (+6), including her birdie on hole 15, where on day one she recorded a double bogey.
The next three team scorers for UC carded overall score of 158 (+9) to finish tied for sixth. Both Ginevra Capo and Maria Neira remained tied from day one where they shot 78 (+6). Their day two scores of 81 (+9) came from Capo tallying ten pars and Neira carding par 11 times. Sharon Holczer joined them in sixth place after an opening round score of 77 (+5). She was able to sink a birdie in round two to give her a pair for the tournament. Their overall scores placed them on the All-Tournament team.
Improving her score from day one to day two was Emily Allen who shot two strokes better for an 18-hole score of 79 (+7). For hole six, a par four, Allen only needed three shots to record her lone birdie of the tournament. The sophomore had an overall score of 160 (+11) to finish tied for 10th place.
Jordan Comer played as an individual and recorded her best tournament finish of her Patriot career. Comer carded an overall score of 158 (+9) to have her tied for fourth place. For day two, her score was 80 (+8) highlighted by 12 pars. Her top-five finish earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Also playing as an individual was Riley Clark, who tied with Allen to finish in tenth place. She tallied a day two score of 81 (+9) behind earning par 11 times.
This marks the first tournament win for the UC women's golf team since spring 2021 when they won the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
The next closest team in the standings was Pikeville who was still 20 strokes off the lead for a score of 645 (+69).
Cumberlands will be back on the links for the Faulkner Match Play Invitational in Knoxville, TN. The two day tournament will begin Monday, October 10.
